"Marriage is for the elite"

Rollo Tomassi argues marriage is only for elite men and women because women don't want to be with average men. He suggests that women want to look up to a man who is taller, more successful, and earns more money than them. Nowadays, women can easily out-earn men, making it necessary for men to be financially superior to be considered marriageable. On the other side, high-value men, who meet all the criteria, are unlikely to marry average women because they have plenty of options. As a result, marriage rates are declining, and the fertility rate is being affected. Rollo acknowledges that the solution to this situation is uncertain.
